This episode of “Meditation Life Skills” offers a brief meditative journey featuring my poetry with music by Joshua Sam Miller, from “Sounds of the Ocean,” a globally touring live show raising awareness, funds and action for ocean conservation. The show has offered 70+ live performances across three continents and was featured at the 2020 International Year of Sound, UN Climate Conference COP 26, the 2022 UN Ocean Conference, and official World Ocean’s Day events at UN Headquarters in New York City.
This piece demonstrates how my work explores the ways in which sound and voice communicate beyond language; physically moving though us via vibration and emotion. This sense of FEELING sound is one way we can open ourselves to hearing and feeling nature; exploring whale sound is one way to take in the intelligence of other beings through the intuitive lens of the bodies, rather than seeking to decode it with the thinking brain.
